After defeating Team123 2-1 (25-21 on Train, 13-16 on Nuke and 16-8 on Inferno), Singularity have secured a spot at DreamHack Open Summer.
The European closed qualifier for DreamHack's Summer iteration began with Singularity easily reaching the grand final after picking up 2-0 wins against both ajukreizi and PRIDE.
On the other side of the single-elimination bracket, Red Reserve beat Mikail "Maikelele" Bill's GreyFace, while Team123 defeated North Academy. When the two Nordic teams met each other, Niels Christian "NaToSaphiX" Sillassen and co. assured a place in the grand final with a 2-0 victory.
The Danish clash began with Singularity grabbing a five-round streak on their opponents' map pick, Train, and easily reaching an 11-4 lead by half-time.
Despite the big gap, Team123 managed to win 10 in a row and eventually reached map point as Counter-Terrorists. However, Singularity levelled the score and eventually secured the first map, 25-21, after prevailing in a triple overtime.
On Nuke, Singularity's map pick, Allan "AnJ" Jensen's squad seemed to be paving the way for their qualification with a dominant 11-4 lead on the CT side, but Team123 refused to back off and took the series to a third map with a 16-13 victory.
Despite getting out to a 6-2 lead on the decider map, Inferno, Singularity finished the first half with a narrow one-round advantage as Terrorists. Still, AnJ and his team easily assured their presence at DreamHack Summer after closing the last map out 16-8 following a near flawless CT-side.
